Help Get Justice for Rocky Myers
Mr. Robin "Rocky" Myers is a 62-year-old intellectually disabled Black man who was wrongfully convicted of capital murder in 1994. Despite an 11-1 predominantly white jury recommending a sentence of Life Without the Possibility of Parole by a vote of 9-to-3, the presiding judge overrode their decision and sentenced Rocky to death.
For more than 30 years, Rocky lived under the threat of execution, despite overwhelming evidence pointing to his innocence—including a lack of physical evidence, recanted witness testimonies, attorney misconduct, and a judge's controversial override.
On February 28, 2005, after extensive advocacy and numerous petitions highlighting the grave injustices in Rocky's case, Governor Kay Ivey finally granted him clemency, commuting his death sentence to Life Without the Possibility of Parole.
Though Rocky's life has been spared, our fight for justice continues. We must hold the system accountable and ensure Rocky Myers finally receives the justice he deserves.
Join us in our ongoing campaign for true justice and fairness.
